Terms and Conditions
Making a Reservation
To make a reservation a deposit of 30% is payable by Credit card, debit card or cheque. Please make cheques payable to Hilary Cowan. The deposit must be received within 7 days of the reservation otherwise it will be re released. Please note that we do charge a surcharge of 1.9% on credit cards to cover the credit card issuers' commission. There is no charge for payment by Debit card.
Balance of payment must be paid 6 weeks prior to the holiday being taken.
If guests are bringing a dog then a £200 refundable good housekeeping deposit will be taken. This should be sent by cheque and will be returned to the guests at the end of their holiday if the house is left in a good condition.
Bookings within 6 weeks of arrival date are payable in full. Bookings made within 14 days of arrival should be paid in full by Debit or Credit card.
Contract
When you submit a booking via our online reservation system you will receive an automatically generated booking summary by email to the email address you provide in the booking form. This does not form a contract between us. A contract shall only arise when your booking is subsequently confirmed in writing via a letter of confirmation sent by post or email.
Arrivals & Departures
The house will be ready by 4pm, and the property must be vacated by 10am on day of departure. Details of how to get to the house and key collection details will be given following receipt of final balance.
Cleaning
The house should be left clean and tidy on departure and any damages must be reported and paid for prior to departure. If the property is left in a dirty or unacceptable condition this may result in an additional cleaning surcharge. All rubbish should be removed from the property.
Dogs
We do accept dogs at an extra charge. However we do so on the understanding that owners will not under any circumstances allow their dogs onto the furniture or up the stairs. Dogs must never be left in the house unattended and all dog mess must be cleaned up from the garden.
Any damage or mess caused by dogs will be made good and paid for out of the good housekeeping deposit.
Smoking
No smoking on premises.
Damages
All damages and losses will be charged in full.
Occupancy
The occupancy of the property should never exceed 8 people which includes children. We are unable to accept any hen or stag parties.
Vehicles/Personal Property
As well as cancellation insurance, guests are recommended to take out holiday insurance to cover loss or damage to personal effects.
Vehicles, accessories and contents are left at their owners' risk. The owners of Shore Croft will not be responsible for any loss or damage or any injury to persons not caused through the fault of the owners.
Holiday Protection
To minimise the cost and inconvenience of cancelled bookings we would advise you to take out holiday insurance.
Restriction on Rental
We reserve the right to remove person or persons from the property due to unreasonable behaviour, damage to the property or exceeding the stated occupancy. In this case refund will be at the discretion of the owners. If a booking is made online the owners reserve the right to refuse the booking at their entire discretion. A full refund will be given if the event of refusal of a booking.
Cancellation
If you wish to cancel a reservation for any reason we must be notified by telephone immediately. In the event of a cancellation all reasonable efforts will be made to re-let the house for that period, and if re-letting is achieved you will be reimbursed in full (minus a £25 administration charge). If we are unable to re-let, cancellation costs will be incurred as follows:
More than 6 weeks before booking commences your deposit will be forfeited
Less than 6 weeks you will be liable to pay the full cost of rental.
Repairs to the property
Occasionally due to damage or wear and tear an item of equipment may not be working. We will do our utmost to repair it as quickly as possible. However due to the remoteness of the house this can sometimes take longer than usual.
Good housekeeping deposit
A £200 good housekeeping deposit will be taken by means of a cheque with the final payment. This will be returned following the holiday if the house is left in a good condition.
